Info-illustration for the magazine of the “Industriellen Vereinigung Österreich” 10/23

The Industrial Association Austria wanted to include a lot of numbers, facts and information in its new magazine. The interesting task of this assignment was to visualise these in a striking, informative and entertaining way.

Of course, the text had to be customised for this- an extra piece of graphic design work. Unfortunately we had to do without a handwritten text due to time constraints, but the chosen typography contrasts nicely with the illustrations and underlines the informative character.

I am really very happy with the result!

“Handel der Zukunft ” Inpact Magazin 7/23

In the July supplement of the "Handelsblatt" from inpact mediaverlag, the consequences of growing world trade are explored. The challenges posed by e-commerce for small retailers, the competition with China and the issue of sustainability were among the topics I illustrated. I particularly like the cover picture: a competition between the big players on the world turf. I also show some sketches that did not make it into the selection because they portrayed the theme "too negatively".

“Future Work” Inpact Magazin 4/23

The April supplement of "Die Zeit" from inpact mediaverlag deals with the search for meaning of "Generation Z" and whether we have become a "land of the lazy" in our search for the right work-live balance. Basically, it is about the development of digitalisation and its influence on the world of work, such as the shortage of labour. Designing the cover and the illustrations on these interesting topics was, as always, a pleasure. Bringing the cover image to life in After Effects was a personal pleasure for me. “Living With Cancer” Inpact Magazin 2/23

The diagnosis of cancer is first of all a shock for everyone affected. How to deal with it, what fears arise and what innovative treatment methods the medicine develops shows the new Impakt magazine "Living With Cancer" for which I was allowed to implement the illustrations at the beginning of this year.

Code of Conduct

MANZ'sche Verlags und Universitätsbuchhandlung, based in Vienna, is Austria's market leader for legal information. On its own behalf, it has now issued a “Code of Conduct” to clarify its guidelines. The limited color scheme was a bit of a challenge. In the end, though, it gives the images a cohesive expression that I like very much.

Real estate project in Hamburg: “Dachsgang” (Badgers aisle)

I was invited into the lair of a badger by a Hamburg agency. A real estate project was to be presented in a catalogue that was to be built on a property called “Dachsgang” or “Badgers aisle”. The badger who will live here in the future, takes his child to school, goes shopping, feeds ducks in the park and barbecues with his family in the garden.

At the beginning of this September, a supplement of the Inpact media Verlag was published in the “Wirtschaftswoche” for which I designed the illustrations. The theme was “Entrepreneurship” (“Unternehmergeist”)

Motivational stamps !

I startet taking chinese lessons ten month ago in a small language school in Berlin. For the smaller children my teacher has now asked me to develop some motivational stamps. A pictogram together with the chinese character and Pinyin, the translation into Latin letters. The words mean super, excellent, number 1, fantastic. I also made a color version in case she wants to make stickers. 我很喜欢 I like it very much.

Just now I had the huge pleasure to illustrate the summer horoscope for the magazine "Maxima", Austria 07/ 22. Twelve pictures with the special summer vacation preferences of each zodiac sign and a title. The images should each look like postage stamps, the lead should show a postcard. A wonderful opportunity to create 13 pictures on one theme. I enjoyed the trip very much! I also liked the sketches, they have a charm all their own. Where do you travel this year?

The various aspects of track construction and renewal. 2021

During 2021 I worked on a highly interesting project:
Plasser & Theurer, an Austrian, worldwide operating company for track construction and track renewal wanted several pictures that should represent many essential aspects of their work. Online and at large presentations their complex field of activity should be presented in a factual but not dry way. I think we succeeded very well.

Arbeitswelt der Zukunft

“Working world of the future”. For the brochure of the inpact media Verlag, December 2021 issue, I was allowed to develop and design the cover and all illustrations within the magazine. Many sketches were created. A selection was then made and refined with art director Laura Berninger. Personally I like the result very much!

Doublepage with lots of tips for saving energy

I illustrated a double page with lots of tips on saving energy and money for the customer magazine “#positive Energie”.

Focus Magazine

For Focus Magazine, I created an illustration on the subject of second-hand recycling for an article entitled “Zweites Leben” (Second Life).

Positive Energie

For enercity's customer magazine “#positive energie”, a complex process was carried out to find the right cover image that symbolises the energy transition. After many sketches, a very suitable design was accepted. I also developed and implemented the lead story and the smaller illustrations in the interior section on the various topics. The effort has been worthwhile.

A brochure for labour and social law

Code of Conduct

I recently had the pleasure of illustrating a brochure for labour and social law for the MANZ'sche Verlags und Universitätsbuchhandlung. MANZ'sche Verlags und Universitätsbuchhandlung, based in Vienna, is Austria's market leader for legal information. The publisher had a prepared colour concept that was to be used, which has been expanded somewhat for the illustrations. I made the sketches as well as the contours and the colouring in Procreate. Afterwards, halftone dots and shadows were added in Photoshop. I like the result very much, also because of the consistent colouring and the charming layout.
